Google search continued to be number one among the search engines for September 2008. According to Nielsen, market share of Google is 59.70%, Yahoo has 18.10% and MSN has 11.8%. Google, with 4.83 billion search queries, increased to 20.8% from September 2007 to September 2008. The search queries of Yahoo increased by 1.5% and MSN search queries increased by 7.10% from September 2007 to September 2008.

Google continues as market leader with little drop in market share by 0.3%
Google once again topped in search engines market share. Google’s market share improved from 54% in September 2007 to 59.70% in September 2008 but decreased by 0.3% when compared to previous month. In the past 2 months there was slight decrease in market share, in July the share was 60.2% and in August it came down to 60.0%. Search queries in Google have significantly increased by 20.8% to 4.83 billion queries in September 2008 from 3.99 billion queries in September 2007.

Yahoo market share decreased by 1.40%
With 18.1% of total share of search engines, Yahoo is in second position. Market share of Yahoo registered a negative growth of 1.40% from September 2007 to September 2008. Yahoo search queries slightly increased by 1.5% from 1.44 billion queries in September 2007 to 1.46 billion queries in September 2008. Despite of best efforts, Yahoo is struggling to retain its market share.

MSN market share slightly went down to 11.8%
MSN is at third position with 11.8% of total share of search engines. MSN registered a positive growth by 1.1% when compared to previous month. It decreased by 1.40% when compared over year but consistent when compared to previous months. The search queries in MSN increased from 0.89 billion in 2007 to 0.95 billion in 2008, with an increase of 7.10%.

AOL market share decreased to 4.1%
AOL managed to be in forth position with 4.1% of total share, even though it is decreased by 1.90% from September 2007 to September 2008. The market share of AOL is fluctuating. In February it was 5.2% and since then the market share showed downward trend till July. The market share is decreased by 0.9% when compared to August. Search queries decreased by 24.60% as the number of search queries decreased to 0.33 billion from 0.44 billion from 2007 and 2008.

Total number of search queries increased by 9.4%
The number of search queries during last year is considerably increased by 9.4%. The top three search engines Google, Yahoo and MSN holds 89.6% of US search engine market share for the month of the September, 2008. Total number of search queries in September 2007 is about 7.39 billion and there is an increase of 0.7 billion of total estimated number of search queries up to September 2008 to reach 8.09 billion.

Google continued its leadership in search engine market shares. Yahoo stands at second but the difference between the first two ranks is huge and there is a clear decline in Yahoo search engine market share but queries are slightly increased. MSN is struggling to maintain the third position with its inconsistent market share. Top three search engine queries are increased at the cost of small search engines like AOL and other search engines. Top three search engine accounts 89.6% of market share.

Your MLM business needs leads for continual growth. Varying leads have different qualities and that is something that you should bear in mind. Take a look on great means to generate hot leads using Yahoo marketing and pay per click advertising model.

The most significant part that you should bear in mind when generating leads with Yahoo Marketing is that they arrive at your end in real time. That only means that you are getting minutes old leads, not like the weeks old or days old leads that you can buy from a lead company.

Yahoo Marketing is a great alternative to pay per click companies such as Google Adwords. One benefit to doing this is you are not going to pay as much per click is you might with Google.

The reason is quite simple and that is there is less competition and therefore there are no high charge on per click based on your bid. You are left to decide on your own campaign and keyword bidding, however you do this without regard to any PPC campaign you set up.

You should send all of the traffic that comes from your advertising campaign to a landing page where you can capture their name, email address, and even their phone number if you want. All these data will be sent then to an autoresponder which allows you to follow up through email.

These will also allow you to create relationships with your leads and not just to make them mere subscribers. If you are capturing a phone number it also gives you the opportunity to quickly call your lead while they are interested and remembering the landing page they’ve signed up with you from.

A hot lead is something that is fresh and has higher interest level. Other things that make leads even better include information such as when they can start, how much they have to invest, how serious they are, and so on.

You can then add this to the sign up form in the landing page to make the lead more qualified. This makes it even a hotter lead than those that merely have the name or email address.

To be success in Yahoo Marketing, you have to monitor the cost of advertising and how many leads are you gifting and how many of them convert into new distributors. This is the only way to accurately determine if your campaign is cost effective.

Yahoo! has improved its search engine by creating a new ” Search Assist ” tool. The aim is to win market share from the search giant Google, leader of the search market and also resolve a problem of consumers called “internet search fatigue”.

Indeed Yahoo! will propose ways to phrase a search as a user types into the query box and will produce more links to photos, music and videos on the main results page.

This new search tool will also pull information from Yahoo’s calendar service:Upcoming.org to highlight local events to a search request .

Yahoo!’s idea when deciding to create this new “search assist ” tool is partly based on a research showing that online consumers were suffering from “web search fatigue”.

The study by ‘Harris interactive’ reported that 99 % of adults online use a search engine to find information online but only 15% of them find what they looking for on their first search. They have to conduct a searche three or four times to find what they are looking for.

The manager of Yahoo! Search said that they make the changes to give the best answers to their consumers. This internet search fatigue damages yahoo’s earning and profit and also has a dramatic effect on their market shares too. In August 2007, Yahoo market share represented 23% of U.S Search market compared to 56.5 % for Google. Two years ago, Yahoo market share(32 %) was only 3 points away from Google (35%).

The gap between the two search engines is going to be hard to fill but it is certainly worth trying!

The global financial crisis has witnessed the crumbling of several companies and in the process loss of employment to many individuals. Many organizations are increasingly cutting down on cost by retrenching their staff in order to stay afloat. A research conducted recently shows that 40% of employment is offered by small businesses, hence the need to ensure that these businesses are offered enough space to thrive and equipped adequately with business management skills.

Apart from providing employment to millions, the success of small businesses is imperative for global economy growth. Flourishing of small businesses is highly dependent on several business aspects in order to meet their major objective; to make money. Some of these business aspects that need to be looked at keenly include recruitment procedures, information technology advancement and staff training programs among others.

Governments need to improve on infrastructures like internet connectivity; this will ensure that small entrepreneurs reach their customers with their products and services efficiently and effectively. It’s crucial for small entrepreneurs to embrace new business management skills in order to prevail in the current competitive business environment.

To overcome the current credit squeeze, small business men must equip themselves with new business management skills, marketing strategies, financial management and customer retention among others. Entrepreneurs also need to find avenues to attract and maintain customers/clients. Small businesses are a source of income to many families and hence can’t be ignored. Internet has proved to be an ideal place for one to start a small business and also find relevant materials such as e-books which offer insight on how to conduct online business.

Question about small enterpreneur
Can you recommend a biography of a successfull enterpreneur?
I am trying to make a fresh start this year with my small business, making a business plan and so on, and I would like to get inspired by reading someone's biography. Especially that of someone who started from scratch to build a great business. Any suggestions?

If you remember back in elementary English class, your teacher told you about the five W’s: who, what, why, where and when. These same words can be useful in assisting you in finding which area of business you want to pursue and what is needed to get begin your business. Following these simple tips provided here can male the home business journey much smoother and less complicated.

Why

You first have to know why you want to pursue a home business. Is it simply about money? Do you want to make more money, direct your income towards yourself with no outside payments (employer)? Perhaps you are looking for more personal freedom for more time with family or friends. Are you unable to commute to work due to illness or other disabling effects? These questions can aid you towards a greater knowledge of what is your driving force in this career choice. You do not simply jump across a gorge to simply jump. You often have to get to the other side. Understanding why you are looking to work from home creates focus.

Where

This area of questioning may sound silly as you are looking to work from home, but do you plan to travel to customers for any area of your business. Do you plan to set up a specific radius to meet or serve customers in? Do you want to reach a worldwide audience? This is all-important in setting up your business.

Who

Who are your products or services for? Children, men, women, families, businesses are all possible target audiences. You have to ask who, so that you can do research on your audience in your location. Is there a large base of your target audience in a remote, general or worldwide location? This is key in marketing and sales.

Which

Which area of business interests you the most? Do you enjoy creating a product by hand or is it the actual sales of the product? There are areas of business that are enjoyable and that are where you will bloom. There are also areas that can create struggle and understanding your strengths and weaknesses can help you to prepare for the good and bad of home business.

What

What type of business do you want to be a part of? Do you want to sell homemade toys or do you want to offer a product that is manufactured elsewhere? Do you want to offer services such as tutoring or sewing and alterations services? Narrow down your choices and find what you truly want to do within your home business.

These five areas are simple, but make a big impact on your business set up. The answers guide you to make the most suitable business choices that will end in satisfaction as well as success. If you simply say that you want to sell pet supplies online and you don’t even like or own pets, how satisfied will you be doing this each and everyday? When you make a change to a home business you have to ensure that there is a drive, a goal and an enjoyment that will make this choice worthwhile and long lasting.

Question about business choice
Are selling imported bags are good business choice?
because i want to go back to my country and do business and i decided to sell bags from another country..is that a good business?

As a marketing coach, I’ve probably heard every excuse in the book why people can’t market their businesses. You wouldn’t believe some of the whoppers people tell when they’re trying to justify their failure to attract clients.

Now don’t get me wrong; it’s not that failing to attract clients makes one a bad person. Not at all. It’s just that when I hear the following excuses I feel compelled to call ‘em as I see ‘em: Baloney!

If you have the mistaken notion that any of these lame excuses are the reason that your business isn’t successful, get a clue. These are just EXCUSES for people who fail, not reasons not to succeed (a subtle, yet important, difference).

1. “I’m too honest to market.” OK, this little gem is at the top of my list because it is both a lie AND an insult! I am a marketer by trade, and I am honest, so I know for a fact that marketing is not a dishonest process or practice, nor does it have to be dishonest to be effective. What’s dishonest is when you overstate your results, or if you truly don’t believe that your product or service is worth what you charge, or if you deliberately intend to defraud people. In that case, the problem is with you, not marketing, so stop insulting the rest of us.

2. “I’m too modest to market myself.” Listen up, princess, every word out of your mouth doesn’t have to be about YOU. Think about what your clients want, need and actually get, and that’ll keep the conversation going for as long as you need it to go. Hey, if you’re not comfortable saying great things about yourself, start saying great things about what your clients get out of working with you. Or better yet, let them say it for you in the form of testimonials. But don’t think that you have to be the subject of every fascinating conversation you have with prospects.

3. “I’m too shy to market myself.” As a highly sensitive person myself, you’d think I’d have more sympathy for this excuse, but I don’t. If you want to be successful, know right now that it may not always be comfortable, and you have to be willing to do what it takes to succeed, even if that means going outside your comfort zone. Shyness is a habit that can be overcome with practice, so join Toastmasters, or see a therapist if that’s what it is going to take, but get over yourself. I promise you will be glad you did.

4. “I’m too creative to market myself.” This excuse is really lame! Marketing is a very creative process, and since you have literally thousands of options when structuring your marketing plans, creativity is an asset, not a liability. Unless you’re one of those I-am-a-self-indulgent-whiner-who-refuses-to-accept-any-responsibility-for-my-actions-and-masks-that-character-flaw-with-claims-of-misunderstood-or-excessive-creativity kinds of people, in which case I say, grow up, and while you’re at it, think up a more creative excuse.

5. “I don’t have enough time to market my business.” OK, this excuse sounds good at first, but in reality it doesn’t wash. Either you are already marketing but not acknowledging your marketing activities as such, or your business is so busy that you don’t need to market at all, which makes this excuse unnecessary. So if you haven’t got all the business you want but you don’t have time to market, you need to reevaluate how you’re spending your time, and make some tough decisions about when you are going to do what you need to do to get those clients.

6. “I don’t have enough money to market my business.” Again, you get points for trying, but this is still just an excuse, because good marketing isn’t about money, it’s about relationships. You can start very modestly with your marketing plans, and spend nothing but your time. And let me tell you, if you can’t get some traction spending 40 hours a week trying to build your business relationships, maybe you should rethink your decision to be an entrepreneur.

7. “I have no personal network to market to.” Oh please, you’ve got to have a better excuse than this! If you truly have no family, no friends, no colleagues, no acquaintances or no former co-workers, then start meeting some. I don’t care if you’ve been on a desert island for the past 20 years, you can always meet people through networking meetings, trade associations, classes, social clubs, or at the gym! Just pick up the phone and call the people you want to know, get out there and mingle, and your personal network will grow quickly.

8. “My product or service is too hard to explain to people.” Fine. Quit explaining what you do, and start talking about what your customers GET from working with you. Do you help your customers get thinner, smarter, married, fitter, their first home, or what? Seriously, nobody cares about what you do, really; people care about what they get. Get it?

9. “My product or service is so good that it should sell itself.” Sure, that’s probably true if your product is a talking monkey, or your clients are all telepaths, but other than that, it’s going to take a little effort on your part, bucko, so start creating some momentum in the marketplace and you’ll find that your product needs less and less of your efforts to sell, until one day it almost seems like it DOES sell itself!

10. “My niche is too narrow and I can’t find my customers.” Hogwash. What this usually means is that you haven’t yet defined your customer, because you can’t find what you haven’t identified (and don’t give me that you’ll-know-them-when-you-see-them line). Start with a matrix of situation and need to identify that client. For example, let’s say you’re a financial planner, and you think your clients are “people who want to get their financial affairs in order.” Think instead about who needs to get their financial affairs in order, and you’ll probably come up with something like “married couples with children who have $X in assets and need to protect those assets with planning.” And you can certainly find those people, can’t you?

So we’ve blasted all these lousy excuses, but we haven’t yet addressed the biggest excuse of all: fear. Most of the time I’ve found that the more excuses my clients offer for not moving forward with their businesses, the more fearful they are.

Hey, I understand, and I’ve been there myself. But what it comes down to is this: Are you more afraid of succeeding (or failing) than you are of going back to work for that idiot boss you always end up working for? If the answer is that you’re more afraid of facing the personal responsibility of entrepreneurship than of any garbage your boss could throw at you, then good-bye entrepreneur, and hello wage-slave.

But if you think that the worst possible scenario is working for some moron again, and that you’ll happily work like a dog if that’s what it takes just so you don’t have to slink back into that stinking office with your tail between your legs, good for you. It’s time to forget about excuses, and start figuring out how to make this whole self-employed thing work for you.

The first thing to understand is that fear is OK. Yes, we’ve all been fearful (and yes, I include myself in that “we” statement). It can be scary picking up the phone. It can be scary going to a sales meeting.

But at the end of the day, isn’t your product or service of value to someone? Aren’t people glad (or going to be glad) that you’ve solved a problem for them? So stop worrying and fearing the marketing process, and remember this: Marketing is really nothing more than the process of developing relationships, and you, my friend, can do that in your sleep.

But there are proven ways to make $100 a day just from free article promotion. So read on to find out tip 7 tips to start making money online through article marketing just today.

Article Marketing Strategies: Top 7 Tips To Make Minimum $100 A Day:

1. Write Clear And Concise Content.

This is the first important step to successful article marketing. Keep your articles to the point offering fast solutions. Your readers are always in hurry and want to read concrete, necessary tips.

Tip:

Give really valuable information in each your article to gain expert status in the eyes of your readers.

2. Answer To People’s Questions In Your Articles.

Your each article should a useful guide answering to a few questions that your niche consumers’ might have in their mind. So it would be better to write articles in Q&A style. Practice shows that this type of articles convert better and you will really notice how the CTR of your resource box has increased.

Tip:

Include a few questions as a subtitle in your article to have a more professional article format.

3. Focus On Promoting Your Articles Only On A Few Top Directories.

From my own experience, I know that articles written daily should be immediately submitted without any delay. Otherwise, those high quality articles collected on your PC are useless.

I understand, it is hard to submit your articles to top 10 or 50 sites every day. So it would be smarter to publish your content only on to 3-5 article directories.

Tip:

Submit your each article to top 3 directories like ezinearticles, articlesbase and goarticles.

4. Submit Your Content To Niche Article Directories To Get Highly Targeted Traffic.

As you know, it is important to generate targeted traffic to your sites. The more targeted your traffic the more sales you will make. So certainly consider a few niche directories to publish your articles on them too.

Tip:

To find niche article submission sites just search for “your niche + article directories” in Google.

5. Send Your Articles To Ezine Publishers.

I’ve tried this method and this works not worse than article marketing. Ezine marketing can earn you thousands of dollars literally in a few days if properly done. It is at your choice to choose free or paid ezine marketing.

Tip:

Go to ezine directories and send email each publisher about your offer regarding unique content delivery to the ezine on a monthly basis.

6. Create A Strong Call-To-Action Resource Box.

This article marketing strategy should be also seriously taken into consideration by every article marketer. Professional article promotion cannot be imagined without a strong, intriguing resource box. Why? – Because all your success, especially the amount of sales directly depends on how better your article resource box converts.

Tip:

Call to action your readers by offering them to download paid product for free or note intriguing fact or reason why they should click your site link.

7. Create PDF Reports From Your Articles.

This is another technique to leverage your article marketing. Many gurus often use this method to benefit of their previous content again and again. So you try too. You can sell or give away these reports.

Tip:

Collect a few of your best articles and compile them into a useful PDF Guide with Attractive Name.

Conclusion:

The only secret of successful article promotion is the above-mentioned 7 article marketing strategies. So put them in action just today to become a successful marketer.

There is more to product advertising than looking at your product, its target audience and then making a match. Some careful planning can make all the difference between a poor and successful campaign.

Product advertising is a simple idea on paper; but like most things which appear simple at first blush, it can be an incredibly complex one in practice. The idea behind product advertising needs no explanation – it is simply presenting a product in the hopes of generating consumer interest. Where things become thornier is when it comes to deciding what benefit the product has to offer and to whom. Identifying a target market and finding the best way to reach these consumers can be challenging in itself. Not every media is ideal for getting your marketing message across to every audience.

The answer to how best to reach the target market often begins with a careful consideration of the product itself; who will use this product and what are these people most likely to consider the biggest advantages of this product? From this, one can often decide on a strategy in terms of which media will provide their product advertisement which will make an impact on the largest number of consumers within this market, as well as helping to begin coming up with ideas on how to present the product as something which will improve the lives of these consumers.

Along with media placements which will be more likely to directly speak to the target market in question, most successful product advertising campaigns will also include advertising placements in media which reaches a general audience. After all, no matter how specialized of a niche market you are dealing with, these consumers also watch television; listen to the radio and so on.

Product advertising is something which can be so complex that most companies find it useful to engage the services of a marketing or advertising agency to handle the work of reaching the consumer. The company can then devote their resources elsewhere, while reaping the benefit of having advertising professionals on their side; professionals who know how to speak to consumers and get the company’s message across and have extensive experience in using various forms of media to make a favorable impression on consumers. If you can find an agency who has experience with other clients in your area of expertise, they could use tried and tested promotional ideas and activities to get the message across in the best way for your target audience. This is a more cost effective model of product advertising for the product manufacturer and permits them to focus on their product and on serving the needs of their customer base.

Remember, product advertising is about visual identity and matching the requirements of the customer with the associated applications of your products. If you can help your customers to imagine a use for your product in their private or business life then you are more than half way there. Of course, after that there are a number of other fundamental selling points you should get across to give your product the best chance of reaching the best quality audience in the most effective way possible.

Question about product advertise
What do I need to do to get permission to use a Hollywood movie poster to advertise a product?
Hi all,
I am thinking about the potential of using Hollywood Movie posters and placing them on my company website to advertise a certain product. Obviously I need to have the rights/permission to do this. Who would I need to contact (i.e. distributor, production studio?), and how?
Any information about this would be great.
Thank you all for your time.
Thanks for your feedbacks so far. However, I want to be the judge whether I can afford it or not. If you want to say that it costs millions, atleast show me some proof as to how much I am looking at.

‘Think about money, make money’ – maybe that is the way it works. The other side of the equation though has to be, ‘think about money, serve money’. How do you make a living while maintaining integrity? Is there an alternative?

‘You cannot serve God and Mammon’

Q: Who said it?
A: You got it! Jesus said it. (in Matthew 6:24)

Q: What is Mammon?
A: Money

Now hang on, isn’t it ‘money obtained through immoral means’ or ‘money that’s stolen from people who needed it’?

Nope. It’s just plain money – not the filthy stinking kind or the born-into-it kind or the I-got-lucky kind or any other particular version of it. It’s just money – plain money – and Jesus said that you CAN NOT serve it, if you want to serve God.

And did you notice that other words I capitalized there – they are the words CAN NOT.

Let’s spell them out again, just in case anybody missed them. C-A-N-N-O-T.

OK. Maybe it’s not the spelling that’s the problem. Maybe it’s the meaning of the words ‘can’ and ‘not’?? that throws people. I don’t know. What I do know is that there are plenty of people out there saying that we should not serve both God and money – ie. that it’s a very bad idea to try to serve both masters. Jesus didn’t say it was a bad idea. He just said that it was not possible.

It’s not that serving money is a bad idea. If all you want to do with your life is to make money, I suppose it’s a great idea. It’s only a terrible idea if you were thinking of serving God, because it’s not possible to do both.

‘You cannot serve two masters’ Jesus says. ‘Either you’ll end up hating one and loving the other, or you’ll end up devoted to one and despising the other’. Either way it adds up to the same thing. You cannot serve both of these guys. It’s just not possible – no sir, not at all, no way!

Now can we be clear about this, please? Good. Because I’m getting sick of hearing all my peers in the Internet Marketing world telling me that I’ve got to focus my mind on money if I want to make money, and think about money in order to attract money.

I keep getting told, ‘as a man thinketh, so he is’. I suspect that’s true. Indeed, let’s take it one step further: ‘as a man thinketh, so he serves’.

‘Think about money, make money’ – maybe that is the way it works. The other side of the equation though has to be, ‘think about money, serve money’. And I get the feeling that there are a lot of good people out there who are being suckered into this way of thinking who actually started out wanting to serve the other master!

So what’s the alternative? Make no money? Give away Internet Marketing? Turn off the computer and concentrate on your relationships? Well, it wouldn’t hurt if a lot more of us did that, but I don’t think it’s the only alternative.

‘Think service’ – that’s the alternative. Think about the Kingdom of God and what you can do for others.

Now that’s a novel approach! Well, ‘actually it’s not that novel, as I notice that some of the best marketers on the NET focus on exactly that – quality of service to their customers – and their businesses seem to be doing just fine too.

So is that all there is to it? Just focus on service and everything else will fall into place?

No. Of course not. Conducting your business with integrity is tough work. Temptations to JV with the evil guy are there at every turn. If you’re an Internet Marketer, you’re immersed in a culture that pulsates with false promises, deadlines that don’t really exist, vastly exaggerated claims and straight out lies. You gotta watch your step.

But the starting point is the most important point. Jesus said, “Seek first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all the rest will fall into place”. It’s a rough translation of Matthew 6:33, but it captures the essence. If you truly have your focus on the Kingdom, I do believe that the rest will follow.

And let me give you one other word from Jesus (from that same sermon in Matthew 6) that will help to keep you on track. It’s one of my favourite verses and one of the most penetrating words Jesus ever gave us.

“Where your treasure is, there will your heart be also”.

Did you get that? Where you’re treasure is – that’s where your heart is!

Again, this is not advice, any more than the statement about the two masters was advice. It’s a straightforward statement of fact. ‘Your heart will always be found alongside your treasure!’

The great power of these words is that they give us a sort of litmus test for spiritual integrity – not just in online marketing, but in all of life.

You see, we normally think that it’s what we say that indicates where their heart is! We are obviously spiritual people if we say spiritual things. Our words indicate where our heart is.

No! Jesus says, I’ll give you a better test. Show me where your treasure is. That’s where your heart is!’

Do you want to know where someone’s heart lies? Take a look at their tax return! Do you want to know where your heart is? Take another look at your bank account!

This is the only sure-fire test for spiritual integrity that Jesus ever gave us. ‘Do you want to know where a person’s heart is? Have a look at where they’ve stored their treasure’.

I won’t bother spelling this out in any more detail. I’m sure you can think it through for yourself. Think about your great spiritual role models. Where did Mother Theresa have her treasure invested? Think about the people you most admire. Where have they invested their treasure?

Of course it’s quite possible that the people you most admire are fat millionaires who live in plush surroundings and don’t think about anybody beyond themselves and their families. OK. There’s nothing I can do about that, but please do me the favour of being honest about one thing: you are serving the other master!
