Online Business Tips For Success…
Thinking in terms of your typical “how to” approach to online business opportunity, those immortal words branded as the “boy scout motto” come to mind. Namely; “Be Prepared.” Just as many a weather beaten “the sea is a harsh mistress” sea fairing captain will tell you (not that I know any, Just speculating here), preparation is the key to weathering any storm.
Online Business Tips #1:
By preparation, I don’t mean to imply that by completing a few tasks here and tying up a few loose ends there, that the job of preparing is something that you can forever leave in your wake.
If anything, the steps you’ll take to prepare to launch your business will be much more like a routine that you’ll maintain to be certain you’ve battened down all your hatches so to speak.
Online Business Tips#2:
Steps like market research to determine income generating potential, financial planning and promotion budgeting, mission statement and company vision; these are all constantly changing values which need to be assessed on a periodic basis.
Much like checking a compass every so often, just to make sure you’re still on course.
These types of measures will make sure that your operation stays afloat and avoids running aground.
Online Business Tips #3:
One of the best pieces of advice I or anyone else can offer to those preparing to embark upon their maiden voyage in online business is this; learn as much as you can from as many different sources as you can before you decide to commit to a particular course of action.
Take a lap around the harbor before you set off around the globe…
Online Business Tips #4:
What I mean quite simple. Take every given opportunity to minimize your risk as well as increase you knowledge base.
I you intend to develop the most incredible product the world has ever seen and completely revolutionize life as we know it. Good for you.
However, you may want to reduce you initial risk by trying your hand at several affiliate programs first. This way, you gain the experience of marketing products without having to invest as much time and money in product research and development.
Taking the same piece of advice a step further, you should definitely invest time and perhaps a few bucks to learn more about how to market a product before you spend any cash on an advertising campaign.
If you stick to these basic guide lines, you’ll quickly find yourself in the favorable position of knowing what to market, how to market it, and how to leverage all the information you’ve gathered to create the greatest return on your investment.
So, don’t just take any one persons word for anything, not even mine (I think), see for yourself. That’s the real beauty of the working online and this new age of information as many call it.
Online Business Tips #5:
A literal fountain of knowledge is constantly available to you, just at your finger tips. All of the information you find may not be as accurate as it could be. But, such is the nature of any medium that allows so many to voice their thoughts and opinions.
It’s really up to you to decide for yourself what pieces of information are useful to you and therefore worth keeping.
I hope that this little blurb has helped to inspire those of you who are still on the fence about taking the plunge and perhaps provided some useful tips for those who are already sailing off into the horizon.
Information’s pretty thin stuff unless mixed with experience.

Well you can patent a product or invention through the US Patents Office. You can find the application and basic information here:
http://www.uspto.gov/main/patents.htm
Also keep in mind, that you can not patent an idea. You can only patent something of matter. That is an actual product or invention or design of something of matter.
So if you have say an internet idea, then that can not be patented.
If you have an idea then you have to develop a beta or proto-type in order to protect it.
Starting a business is not easy, it takes a lot of money to get something on the ground. Since you are quite young, I imagine that starting costs will be a problem. If it's something that won't take much money to get off the ground, then you'll be fine to do this on your own.
If you need help with money you can look for private investors or look at Venture Capitalists to help you get started. Microsoft used a Venture Capitalist to get started. Just to give you an idea of how successful businesses got started.
Good Luck!
Hah. I was just looking for similar answers, except mine pertains on homemade goods and how to sell online etc.
(p.s) did you know amazon now has a whole food/grocery section? its great, still haven't found the 'rules' to selling food yet though, so if you find it-send me info-lol)
ok heres is some tips u do need to know for legality' this is my offer of info 4 u
Peace and Good Luck
There are many food and drug laws that you will need to understand before you start selling your homemade food products. To make sure that you are following all the federal laws and regulations for selling food products it is important that you read through several different FDA documents. The first document that you will want to read is the Overview of FDA’s Food and Cosmetic Regulatory Responsibilities. This document will outline the legal requirements that impact the manufacturing and distributing of your food product. You will also want to read through the Food Allergen Labeling and Consumer Protection Act of 2004. This document will explain what ingredients and warning you will need to include on your labels.
In addition to these documents you will also want to read through the following FDA documents: Current Good Manufacturing Practice in Manufacturing, Packing, or Holding Human Food; A Guide to Self Inspection for the Smaller Food Processor and Warehouse; Inspecting Incoming Food Materials; A Food Labeling Guide, Small Business Food Labeling Exemptions; and the FDA Nutrition Labeling Manual – A Guide for Developing and Using Data Bases. All of these documents, as well as several others, can be found on the FDA website located at http://www.cfsan.fda.gov/~comm/foodbiz.html.
hope this was helpful.
and 'Getting Customers and Marketing? it all depends on your product, where you are, and where you will ship to, and more.
Not at all. That's just how it works in America currently. The wait staff make like $3.00 USD per hour – the tips make up for the rest of their measly paycheck.
Come on – the mandatory gratuity is clearly stated on the menu. If you don't like it, leave it. I personally don't patronize places that mandate a tip. (I always tip though – but it's my decision as to how much). (And I always leave good tips). Ignorance of a country's current laws is never an excuse for complaining about something. Tips don't 'subsidize' private business owners. Like I said, they just go to bring the wait staff's pay up to the minimum wage or poverty level.
I've been in business for over 4 years now and I failed for about 2.5 of the time i've been in business. And there is a big reason for that. You need to be educated. Now I don't mean you have to go to college or university because I know you can start a business without going to college or university because that is what I do.
The one question you should be asking yourself is how are you going to attract customers to you and how are you going to generate leads for your business.
Once I learned this my business took off. The best thing to do I would say is to find a mentor in the area of business you want to get into. If its a home business than find someone who has been successful and learn the shortcuts on what to do and more importantly what not to do.
